first and only edition, rare. oclc locating only five copies in the united states. This booklet was a souvenir for donors to Father Henson's "Testimonial Fund." Henson and his wife traveled from Canada on a lecture tour of Great Britain in order to raise money to pay off a large mortgage on their farm, needed to settle a case with The Dawn Educational Institute (Wilberforce) in Ohio. "It is hoped also, that the circulation of the book, especially in the United States and Canada, may serve a useful purpose, by showing how the people of Great Britain can love and honour a man of worth, whatever his country or his clime, and thus assist in removing the foolish prejudice to colour which still exists in some quarters, and which it may yet take years to destroy." From the "Prefatory Note." This little souvenir booklet is among the rarest items related to "Uncle Tom's Cabin."
